The fine print

Terms of sale

Effective July 30, 2026

These terms cover purchases from Dust & Dye ("we", "us"), a secondhand and hand-dyed clothing shop operating from Warren, Michigan. Placing an order means you accept them.

One-of-one goods

Almost every item is the only one we have. Listings describe secondhand garments honestly, including age, wear, and flaws; secondhand means previously owned and worn, and ordinary signs of that are not defects. Hand-dyed pieces are individually made and vary from their photographs.

Carts and holds

Adding an item to your cart holds it for 15 minutes (extended while you're checking out). If the hold lapses before payment completes, the item returns to the rack and may be bought by someone else. An order exists when payment succeeds, not before.

Pricing and errors

Prices are in US dollars. We work carefully, but if a listing contains an obvious error — a wrong price, a duplicate listing of a sold item — we may cancel the affected order and refund it in full. That refund is the whole remedy for a listing error.

Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Applicable sales tax, where any, is shown at checkout.

Care of goods

Care guidance on tags and listings (for dyed pieces: cold wash, hang dry) is advice, not warranty. Vintage textiles are old by definition — treat them gently.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, our liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law doesn't let us limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA.
